I am French/Egyptian descendant & Australian citizen/ registered teacher. Working as a teacher for many years in different schools in Australia, abroad has given me knowledge and extensive experience of how to communicate with students, parents and staff. My interpersonal skills are based on my interest in people and my desire to assist them whenever needed. I work co-operatively with others and use tact and diplomacy in sensitive situations.
My experience includes but not limited to: preparing budgets, buying resources and taking charge of all exam submissions. I organized exchange trips to different countries such as France, New Caledonia and England. I also ran professional development sessions for the staff. Furthermore, a large part of my role was to report to the principal, and liaise with pupils, parents and staff on a daily basis. I was frequently commended for the professional manner in which I carried out these duties both inside and outside of the school.
I also worked for over 3 years at the International School of Myanmar and currently at Gems Int'l as ICT integrator/coach/teacher. I organized and ran professional development sessions for the staff, and parents. In addition, I was responsible for the editing and organising the yearbook.
I have a quiet, dignified and effective classroom management style. I have the ability to develop rapport with students through warmth and empathy, whilst treating students with dignity. I am patient but consistent and firm. I appreciate that students need to be encouraged rather than forced unwillingly, into learning.
I am a flexible, self- motivated person, enthusiastic and I always work hard to achieve my goals. I work well as part of a team but am self-motivated to achieve my targets on my own merit.
