I am Kevin Wang, 33 years old.
I hold an MA in Mathematics Education (2009) from the Institute of Education at the University of London. I have taught Mathematics for SOAS ICC (University of London), Tsinghua University (where I also taught Physics and Chemistry), NCUK Dalian (where I also taught Chemistry and Engineering) and the IAS Dalian programme validated by Trinity College, Dublin. Most recently I taught Quantitative Methods and Calculus at Pontes School Beijing.
For me, it is quite lucky to find this career that I really love. It is also the reason why I study my MA in Mathematics Education. The purpose of studying my MA is to consolidate my former teaching experience and improve my teaching skills to a higher level. This learning experience for me was really enjoyable, challenging and worthwhile. I have successfully achieved my goal. I graduated with distinction (with a grade A on my dissertation).
All the programme I have taught is required entirely in English. Although I am not a "native English speaker", I am really confidence of my English level. In addition, I am a very cooperative and pleasant member in staff room. All my students and colleagues think that I have been carrying my responsibilities very well.
Indeed, I feel very comfortable teaching students from all over the world and feel I represent to them a motivating example of an international student who has gone abroad to pursue academic and personal goals successfully and who has returned to contribute to their own country. I am always happy to share my experiences as an international student with my own students.
