I have been working as a Buyer for Wing Yip in London for the last five years. In that time, I have been promoted from a non-food buyer to a food buyer, and then given responsibility for several of the most important accounts (pleas see details in the Work Experience section), due to my professional and diligent nature as well as successfully sourcing and launching new products. I have also increased the sales and profitability of my important accounts, through a good buying strategy and market knowledge. I have also been given the responsibility for developing Junior Buyers.
Since I have been working at Wing Yip, I have become very interested in Chinese culture, language and everyday life in China. I have been studying Chinese language for two years, and plan to take an HSK exam in 2018.
I find the Chinese language extremely interesting, and studying has helped my in my communication at work, with my colleagues, customers and suppliers. Through studying Chinese, I have also developed a great respect for Chinese people and their culture. I think that it is becoming increasing clear that China will soon be a world leader in a number of areas. When I visited Sichuan province recently, it seemed to me like a great place to live and work, and it was very inspiring to see the rapid pace of development in the cities and countryside.
I am very interested in moving to China to live and work, and be a part of the development of the country if I can.
